Unemployment in Pa. Has Been Historically Low

The unemployment rate in Pennsylvania equalled 3.6% or 3.7% for the 17 months leading up to December 2024, lower than any pre-pandemic month since the mid-1970s. The rate rose to 4.0% in July 2025, compared with the national rate of 4.2%.
