Costs exceed average dairy's profit in most dairy states
In most dairy-producing states, average dairy farm costs, such as for feed, labor and insurance, have been higher than sales. The map shows average profit per 100 pounds of milk.
A US map shows that in the majority of dairy states, except California, the average farm's cost of production were higher than income.
