Democrats lead by 11 on the generic ballot

If the 2026 general election for Congress were held today, which party's candidate would you be more likely to vote for in your district?

The Argument's survey of 1,549 national registered voters, with 1,501 complete interviews and 48 partial interviews, was fielded nationally between Oct. 21 and 23, 2026. A likely voter screen was also applied. The margin of error for the full survey is ±2.7%. Undecided voters were pushed to choose one party — prior to pushing, Democrats led 50-40 with registered voters and 52-41 with likely voters.
