Funding for heat assistance in Minnesota is down from recession-era peak
Total federal and state funding for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) was $102 million in 2018, down from $164 million in 2009.
Fiscal year 2006 and 2014 figures include, respectively, $13.4 million and $20 million in emergency state funds. The final $10 million payment for FY18 has not yet been appropriated.
