Prince William County police pay to rise 17%

The Prince William Board of County Supervisors on Dec. 13 boosted the police department's starting salary for sworn officers and raised pay 17% across the police pay scale, effective Jan. 1. The supervisors also OK'd $10,000 hiring bonuses for police officers and firefighters that can remain in place until June 30, 2024.
