Where Domestic Durham Students Come From (Average Per Year)

This map shows the average number of students (undergraduate and postgraduate) who study in Durham each year, and the county in which they usually reside. (calculated as average intake per county from 2017/18 to 2021/22). ADJUSTMENTS = Some adjustments have been made to ensure data is inclusive and accurate as possible given the dataset provided. 1) Apart from London, cities are considered part of the county they are closest two rather than being separate from a county, meaning figures for the city represent students residing in the city and the county combined (e.g. Manchester and Lancashire is one county, Edinburgh and Midlothian is one county etc.) 2) City of Bristol is classed as a county in its own right as it includes the figures for Avon, the county which surrounds Bristol 3) Figures for Lincolnshire are combined with South Humberside 4) Figures for County Durham and North Yorkshire combine additional figures from Cleveland, which is split between the two counties. NOTE = Figures provided were rounded to the nearest 5, so where a county shows '0' students, this means a figure which is rounded down.
