West: Highest and Lowest MBA Pay

American lore is filled with tales of pioneers, immigrants, and dreamers racing across the prairies and mountains to find their riches out west. You could say the same for MBAs. Last year, graduates from 27 programs earned $110,000 or more per year on average – far more than the Southwest (19), Midwest (18), Mid-Atlantic (16), and the South (15)…and slightly better than the Northeast (26). Sure enough, Stanford grads earned the most at $132,870 – $600 more than HBS grads. Seven schools also produced students who made $200,000 or more to start – more than all of the other American regions combined.
