During the pandemic, it started rising again, reaching £8,100 in 2024/25, a 8.7% rise on 2018/19. The Labour government's settlements (from 2025/26 onwards) set the course for continued, though slowing real-terms growth until 2028/29, where funding will hit £8,800, a 7.7% real-terms increase on its inheritance in 2024/25.
