State and local law enforcement fuel ICE arrests in Florida

The 287(g) program allows state and local law enforcement to carry out federal immigration tasks. The share of people arrested through this program from Jan. to Aug. 2026 is about 31 percent. In 2024, the share was about 13 percent.
