Development planned for Sunnyside neighborhood

Known as Sycamore Ridge, a $25 million planned housing development on Lancaster city’s Sunnyside peninsula would replace a former junkyard off Circle Avenue. The property is south of the city-owned site that is set to become a nature preserve leased by Partners for Environmental Stewardship, a nonprofit affiliated with the High Foundation. Developers Joe Mugavero and Mark Peteritas' plans call for 79 houses averaging about 1,200 square feet each, that would be priced around $350,000. They would resemble two short-term rentals Mugavero built on Sunnyside in 2023, but with attached garages instead of on-street parking.
