AA Degree-Seeking Students’ Perceptions Regarding Attainment of Communication Discipline-Level Competencies
This grouped bar chart displays AA degree-seeking students' perceptions of their attainment of Communication discipline-level competencies across five outcomes (C-1 through C-5) for academic years 2022-23 and 2023-24, measured on a 5-point scale where 5 = very much and 1 = none.
Student perceptions remain consistently high across both years and all five competencies, ranging from 4.15 to 4.28 on the 5-point scale. Year-over-year changes show mixed patterns: C-1 declines slightly from 4.19 to 4.15, C-2 decreases from 4.28 to 4.25, while C-3, C-4, and C-5 all show modest improvements (C-3: 4.19 to 4.21; C-4: 4.22 to 4.27; C-5: 4.18 to 4.20). C-4 demonstrates the highest student confidence in 2023-24 at 4.27, while C-1 shows the lowest at 4.15. The tight clustering of all ratings within a 0.13-point range indicates stable and strong student confidence in achieving Communication competencies across all outcomes. This measure was discontinued in 2024-25 due to the college's transition to new survey software.
