Bridge ratings are based on three scores: the deck (bridge surface), the superstructure (deck support) and the substructure (supports the deck and superstructure). A score of 7 or better is good, a score of 5 to 6 is fair and a score of 4 or worse is poor. The bridge's worst score determines its overall condition.
