Fort Bend County's total fertility rate has fallen faster than and well below Montgomery County's rate over the past two decades.

Notes: Total fertility rate is a measure of the average number of children a woman would have over her lifetime if current age-specific fertility rates remained constant. Replacement level measures the total fertility rate necessary for one generation to replace itself over time without population growth.
