Hotel guests in St. Louis pay an 18.93% lodging tax (4.23% by the state, 12.7% by the county and 2% by the city), the highest total in the country, according to industry analyst HVS.

* An additional $1.50-$3 per-night excise tax, depending on the hotel’s size
** Excludes the city’s Enhanced Employment Area 3.0% tax, applied only at the Marriott Capital District hotel.
^ An additional $2 per night fee goes to the Memphis Tourism Improvememnt District
