Bullet-train route in the Valley

Construction is under way on 119 miles of a future high-speed rail route in California's central San Joaquin Valley. The California High-Speed Rail Authority is seeking more federal money to extend the route to 171 miles, into downtown Merced and downtown Bakersfield.
