Data on the physician workforce in Texas shows that doctors are concentrated in the state's largest urban counties. According to the Texas Medical Board, totals are calculated by the physician's self-reported primary practice address during at the time of their registration. The data shows that 25 counties don't have a practicing doctor registered in the county.
