The census (including the American Community Survey) defines race and ethnicity as two separate questions. The columns in this table are based on race only, therefore people could respond with black or white for their race and also respond with Hispanic or Latino for their ethnicity. Our white, black, and other race columns all include people of Latino ethnicity.
