Total seats by party in the Missouri House of Representatives
In the last few election cycles Missouri has been controlled by a Republican majority in legislative positions. Missouri’s consistency as a red state has been unbroken since 2010. Democrats have begun to follow a slight upward trend, but have a large difference to cover. Both presidential nominees have decided to bypass Missouri this election cycle because of its habitual voting patterns.
While Democrat's had the house majority from 2000-2002, the balance has shifted towards a large republican majority. Republicans have controlled the Missouri House of Representatives since 2004.
