Missing women reported to police in Vancouver. An Indigenous woman was nearly 12 times likelier than a white woman to be reported missing. Data was collected from 2016 to 2021.
According to the 2016 census, white women made up 44.11% of Vancouver's female population. Indigenous people made up 2.41% of the female population. Asian people made up 41.39% of the female population. South Asian people made up 5.76% of the female population. Others made up 6.33% of the female population.
From 2016 to 2021, white women were the subject of 180 missing person reports. Indigenous women were the subject of 119 missing person reports. Asian women were the subject of 31 missing person reports. Middle Eastern women were the subject of 11 missing person reports. Others were subject to 25 missing person reports.
