The share of households with exclusive piped water was 40.4% in million-plus cities in 2012, which increased to 50.4% in 2018. In case of smaller towns, it went up from 24.2% to 34.7%. The shares for pucca houses changed from 98.8% to 98.9% in case of larger cities and from 92.3% to 95.3% in case of small towns.
