2024 City Council Participatory Budgeting Vote Counts vs 2023 City Council General Election Winner Vote Counts

The November 2023 general elections provide a "ceiling" against which to judge participatory budgeting, which has a much larger electorate per council district (anyone 11 and up). As you can see, PB compares very poorly to a city council election that already had terrible turnout. One point of interest: the top 2 best vote getters in PB (districts 34 and 37, of Jennifer Gutierrez and Sandy Nurse, respectively) were the only ones to have more PB votes than actual votes in their council elections.

Note: the city council 2023 vote totals are only for the winner of the seat. If I were to count all total votes for all candidates, this picture becomes even more mismatched.
