Popularity of UC Campuses

Percentage of UC applicants from California high schools who applied to each school in 2024.

Los Angeles and San Diego both draw applications from over 80% of California high schoolers with strong academic records and over 50% of those with weak academic records. Berkeley attracts 75% of strong applicants but only 36% of weak ones.

Calculation is the number of applications received by that school divided by the number of applications Universitywide. Honors classes are yearlong classes taken in 10th-12th grade and include AP, IB, and UC-certified honors classes. Data excludes students from other states and countries.
