Many black, Latino, low-income Americans struggle to pay bills amid COVID-19 pandemic

An AP-NORC poll finds black and Hispanic Americans are more likely than white Americans to say they have been unable to pay at least one type of bill as a result of the coronavirus outbreak. Americans in low-income households, women and adults under 60 also are especially likely to report difficulty keeping up with bills.

Results based on interviews with 1,057 U.S. adults conducted April 16-20. The margin of error is ±4.0 percentage points for the full sample.
