In addition to a 34% retaliatory tariff on all U.S. imports, China put export controls on all 17 critical minerals.

The data on rare earths exports and imports are from NAICS code 325180 (Other Basic Inorganic Chemical Manufacturing). The U.S. and China didn't trade on 212299 (All Other Metal Ore Mining) in 2024.
