The Uninsured, by Texas State House District

In the Texas state House, Democrats generally have higher rates of constituents without health insurance than Republicans. Among the 85 GOP-led districts, 21, or nearly 25%, have uninsured rates higher than Texas's overall rate of 19.6% of those under age 65. That compares with 46 of 64 Democrat-led districts, or 72%. About nine in 10 of both parties' districts exceed the national uninsured rate of 10.1%. One House seat is vacant.
