There are three classifications within the Permanent Forest Estate: Reserved Forest, Protected Public Forest, and Protected Areas. The PFE makes up 30.1% of Myanmar’s territory according to the latest data, and the 1995 Forest Policy committed the government to reach a target of a combined 35%.
