Lithium-ion batteries reaching end-of-life each year
As more EV batteries reach the limit of their automotive usability, there will be a higher demand for battery recycling. The increasing volume of recycled materials will provide more opportunity for a "closed loop" battery ecosystem.
The bar chart shows the number of batteries at end-of-life increasing from about 51,000 in 2019 to about 918,000 in 2030.
