In Purdue Settlement, Individual Victims Receive Far Less Than Governments

Here is a breakdown of who would receive money from the $7.4 billion settlement with Purdue Pharma and its owners, the Sackler family, as part of a bankruptcy plan approved by a judge last year. Federal and state governments would receive more than 70% of the funds, leaving less than 12% for individual victims. Of the money going to state and local governments, the top five recipients were California, Florida, Texas, New York, and Pennsylvania.
