Fringe benefits tell a story similar to wages in terms of inflation. Tame inflation meant real fringe benefits were rising but then near the end of 2015 began to stagnate. But just in the past couple years, fringe benefits, even in nominal terms, have been declining, meaning when you add their impact into overall compensation, the picture looks even worse.
