The chart shows, for each major metro and New Zealand as a whole, the average property value, plus the change since values peaked.

The figures are derived from the OneRoof House Value Index taken at the end of August. Market peak for New Zealand, Auckland, Dunedin, Hamilton, Tauranga and Wellington was in early 2022. Market peak for Christchurch and Queenstown-Lakes was 2026.
