The composition of SFUSD's 3rd grade changed during and after the pandemic

Change in the size of each demographic group, expressed as a percentage of the entire 3rd grade cohort. For example, the share of the 3rd grade class who were disadvantaged Latino students rose from 18.07% in 2022 to 22.34% in 2024, an increase of 4.3 percentage points.

Since the numbers are expressed as a percentage of the entire grade, the numbers in each column sum to zero. The Two or More races group is included with "Other", even though they are the fourth largest group, because there seems to have been a classification error in the 2019 data. Only students with SBAC scores are counted.
