Senators flipped their votes to expand RECA

On Thursday, the U.S. Senate passed a bill that would expand the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act, by a vote of 69 to 30. That vote comes after a more narrow vote in July, 61 to 37. Senate bills need at least 60 yes votes to pass. It now moves to the House.

Both senators from Alaska and Tennessee switched their votes, as well as House Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky. All three states would benefit from the expanded program.
