The Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority will receive 45% of the money generated by the surtax. The agency must spend at least 45% of that amount enhancing bus services and at least 25% expanding transit services that utilize exclusive transit right-of-way for at least half the length of the service. Remaining funds can be spent on any public transportation improvement project.
