Nursing home inspection backlog
Since 2022, most Kentucky nursing homes have gone two years or more without the federally required annual standard inspection by the state Health and Family Services Cabinet.
The percentage of Kentucky nursing homes that have gone more than two years without a federally required annual inspection by the state government jumped from 0 percent in January 2021 to more than 70 percent in 2022.
