How big emitters' nitrous oxide emissions have changed
Human-produced nitrous oxide emissions are predominantly from agriculture, but also from fuels, industry, waste and burning forests. One teragram (Tg) is 1 million metric tons.
Lines show most N2O emissions have risen. China has almost twice the emissions today of any of the other countries today. China, India and Brazil have all risen. Europe's emissions have fallen significantly, and US emissions are trending down.
