Note: The mean refers to the average, this is, the sum of all the values divided by the number of values. The median refers to the middle value of a dataset, separating the higher half from the lower half. While unusually low or high observations have a strong impact on the mean, this is not the case for the median, which therefore provides a better representation of a "typical" value.
