Flooding Risk Estimates for Illinois Counties, 2023-2025 

Over the next 30 years, Illinois will see an increase of 30,000 properties that are at risk for substantial flooding, according to projections from First Street Foundation. This map breaks down each county’s change in risk. For example in Cook County, 10% more properties will be at risk for a 100-year flood, jumping from 172,000 properties in 2023 to nearly 189,000 in 2053.
