Map of global presence variations of EU countries between 2020 and 2024. If we look at the evolution of EU countries individually (both intra- and extra-regionally), the picture is quite uneven. Since 2020 the main European engines –France (-30, in dark red), Germany and Italy(-30 to -10, orange), plus the UK (-30, dark red) have experienced losses, while more moderate growth has occurred in the European periphery, notably in Ireland and Poland (20, green).
