The share of Western and California gulls fluctuated greatly from year to year, but was generally at between 6% and 8% between 2000 and 2006, then between 10% and 16% from 2007 to 2014. The share has jumped in recent years, spiking to more than 20% in 2018 and again in 2022, but dropped to about 12% in 2023.
