Since PEPFAR's founding in 2003, the U.S. bilateral contribution to HIV/AIDS funding grew from 16% to 24% of total resources for LMICs in 2023
The chart shows July 2024 estimates of resources available for countries classified as low- or middle-income by the World Bank. Data for domestic funding includes public and private sources, and data for the United States includes only bilateral funding. Figures are adjusted for inflation in 2019 dollars.
