Since creating a Facilities Master Plan in 2016, St. Paul Public Schools has postponed several school projects because of higher than expected construction costs and a desire to keep property taxes in check.
The new East Side middle school was postponed indefinitely because of falling enrollment and the purchase of the former Crosswinds school in Woodbury, which will open in fall 2019 as the St. Paul district's E-STEM middle school.
