Rankings of the 16 German federal states for the individual UN sustainability goals

The table shows the rankings of the federal states in terms of their achievement of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The individual goals can be found with their titles and detailed descriptions in the footer of the press release.

1 = very sustainable
16 = least sustainable

The official data from the joint statistics portal of the Federal Statistical Office and the statistical offices of the federal states was evaluated for the sustainability ranking of the 16 German federal states. The most recent available value was used for each of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). If several indicators were available for a goal, an average value was calculated. For some goals, current data was not available for all federal states. In these cases, individual federal states could not be included for the respective goal. The indicators were used to create a ranking for each of the 17 goals.
