US domestic terror attacks rose in 2016, stayed high

During most of the Obama administration, there were fewer than 30 domestic terrorism incidents in the U.S. each year. In 2015 that began to rise, and in 2016, a presidential campaign year, domestic terrorism rose sharply. During the first two years of the Trump administration, domestic terror has stayed at that high level.
