Districts of innovation expand rapidly in Texas

In 2016, the first year District of Innovation plans were introduced in Texas, only 26 of the 1,203 Texas school districts had adopted the plans. By the beginning of the 2023-24 school year, 80% of Texas districts had DOI plans on file, and over 4.5 million Texas students were enrolled in DOI districts.
