Oglethorpe County Gets Text-to-911

On Jan. 1, Oglethorpe County 911 began accepting text messages. It is one of 34 public safety answering points in the state to have this technology as of Feb. 4.

The following PSAPs provide text-to-911 but are not shown on this map: Dallas Police Department (Dallas, Ga.), Fort Moore Military Police Department (Fort Benning, Ga.), Scott County Emergency Communications Center (Gate City, Ga.), and Wiregrass E-911 (Darien, Ga.).
