Unemployment Rate by Province February 2026
Ontario leads active unemployment at 7.6% after losing 67,000 jobs in January. Alberta is the only major province showing falling unemployment. Newfoundland's 9.2% reflects structural long-term unemployment — the province actually gained 2,100 jobs in February
