Fairer Finance Trust in Insurance Index (Spring 2025)

Every six months, Fairer Finance, via the pollster Opinium, polls around 10,000 insurance customers and asks them the following question: "Based on everything you know about this insurer, to what extent would you agree or disagree with the following statement - 'I trust [name of provider]'?". Respondents answer once for every type of insurance policy they're responsible for buying.

The percentages for each Spring and Autumn period include responses for the last six waves of the survey. The surveys for car insurance, home insurance and travel insurance began in Spring 2015. The pet insurance survey began in Spring 2017. In Spring 2024, the total samples for each sector (aggregating the last six waves of the survey) were: car insurance, 47,957; home insurance, 46,265; pet insurance, 14,418; travel insurance, 24,654. The data is weighted so that more recent waves of the survey are more heavily weighted.
