Polypharmacy among autistic people with co-occurring conditions

People with autism often take one or more medications to manage anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder or other conditions.

Data include 26,722 people with autism who were enrolled in a large U.S. insurance plan for at least one year and were prescribed at least one psychotropic medication. Each band of color represents the percentage of those people who, in a given year, were prescribed one or more medications.
