As of the most recent week ending April 2, 2023, spot market rates, according FTR Transportation Intelligence and Truckstop's weekly report, sat all-in at national averages of $2.61/mile for flatbeds, with reefers sliding to $2.22, and dry vans at an average $1.94/mile, below the $2 mark for the second week in a row. Demand was flat compared to the previous week, with a just slight rise in market pressure in carriers' favor, according to analysts. In the van segments, "rates are running below the five-year average, but they mostly are moving according to seasonal expectations."
