The daughter of a former Labor minister, Annastacia Palaszczuk became Queensland’s 39th premier in a shock election win in February 2015, making her the first female premier to take the role from opposition.
She was the first female Australian premier to win three consecutive terms and led the first majority female cabinet in Australia.
